[ Of course she has. Spending the first week here learning to cook has paid off... ]

I made dinner!

[ It's beef stew with vegetables and bread. Not quite what Olivia taught her, but she improvised. ]

Dinner would be great. I am quite hungry.

We shouldn't hold back our appetites when food is readily available.

Did you have trouble? [Not like they cooked all the time while they were back home...]

[ Everything's been laid out already so they can eat straight away. ]

Nope. Olivia taught me how to make it.

[ She's almost able to predict when he would be hungry nowadays... not that it's difficult, but. ]

Olivia is rather talented.

You seem to be making new acquaintances without any trouble.

[She's the same as always.]

[ She has to. It's the first thing that she thinks she should do in any new place - network, find out who she can ally with, and the situation at hand. ]

The people here are quite kind.

[ She ladles out some soup for herself and sits down beside the chair meant for him. ]

They are. I had plenty of help from everyone...including Olivia.

[He nods and accepts the food he's given. Julius looks ready to eat!!]

[ It's good that they work together as a team. Some people might be suspicious of the organization's intentions, but she's willing to put trust in them. ]

Okay, let's have dinner.

[ She hopes it's good. ]

[He quietly eats Reika's home made meal. ]

It's delicious, thank you.

[Her food is perfect. Julius can't remember the last time he's had food actually cooked by someone.]

[ Much of the time they spend together is in silence, which she appreciates. Just his presence is enough. ]

I'm glad.

[ She had worried about adding too little seasoning but it seems to be to his taste so all is well. ]

Are you full yet?

[He's almost finished his meal. Julius doesn't leave anything behind and eats with some level of refinement.

The time spent with Reika is precious to him.]

[ Reika eats slower, but then again she has a smaller serving. Now that they're not out trying to vanquish Aragami, they need less energy so it's less food overall. ]

I'm good.

[ Soon her bowl is empty. She'll wait for him if she finishes first. ]

I'm happy to hear it.

[He pours her another glass of water. Julius seems to be his usual self today. Nothing's off about his attitude, he does appear to be calm. Reika would know better than to accept that alone.]

[ She has to watch him. It's hard to tell how he feels even after this time; observation still require some more experience. Still, he's outwardly normal for now, which lessens her worry somewhat.

When they're done, she'll start washing up. ]

What do you feel like doing for the evening?

I would prefer to rest. Lately, I have been pushing myself. The body and mind both need time to recover.

[Reika's been taking care of him and he's noticing the results. Julius just wants to make sure her efforts don't go to waste because of his stubbornness.]

Do you have any other plans for today?

[ It seems to be an unshakable habit of his, pushing himself - but she'll respect his wishes all the same. He's becoming more self-aware, too. ]

Not in particular. I can accompany you, if you'd like.

[ If not she'll probably just read in their room anyway. ]

Thank you. I don't want to be apart from you again, if I can help it.

...Stay with me a little while longer, please?

[He walks up to her and holds her hand.]

[ How can she refuse when he makes the request like this? ]

Of course. I'll just clean up and we can go back.

[ Just the dishes left, then she washes her hands and drys them on a nearby towel. ]

Let's go.

I appreciate it.

[He helps her out and then settles down eventually. Julius just wants to spend the rest of the day without worry.

Eventually he picks their pile of books and sorts it out on the table.]

[ The door clicks shut behind her and they're back in their small room again. Windowless, but surprisingly not stuffy given how twice the number of intended people are inhabiting it. She joins him at the table and waits for him to pick a book (maybe) before she chooses.

It's quiet since she hasn't had to say anything yet. ]

[It's not before long until he passes out on the chair. Julius is really tired and he knows it.

He didn't say anything the entire time either. Will Reika wake him? ]

[ She's absorbed enough in her book to not notice at first, but once she does she has to act.

After a few moments' of consideration she puts down her book and (very) gently lifts him so she can put him down on the bed proper, pulling the blanket over him. She still needs to read, so she'll move her chair closer to the light and dim it. ]

[He's asleep but hardly notices her touch. A couple of hours later he wakes up, realizing he's been moved.

Julius sighs knowing it was Reika. She keeps doing so much for him.]

Reika?

[ It's her turn to be passed out on the chair, though she lays her head on the table as per their usual sleeping arrangements. The light is lowered to minimum intensity so he can see, and there's a glass of water on the side of the table closer to him.

It seems she possibly waited for him to wake before deciding to go to sleep herself. ]

[At this time of night, Julius goes out for a walk.

He doesn't want to break up his routine. So before leaving he puts a blanket on top of Reika, careful not to wake her.]

[ It's only a while later that she wakes, feeling the warmth from the blanket draped over her shoulders. Her first thought is confusion, given how there's only one blanket and -

- and... he's not there anymore.

Instantly she sits up, jolted into full wakefulness before she fumbles with her magitek. Calling up the tracking app, her panic only eases when she spots him on the map.

Why is he there? It seems she'll only find out if she goes to find him. So she does, her footsteps nearly silent in the dark chilly night. ]
